Day Sixteen: World's First Scout

Worlds First Scout, 100th anniversary commemorative badge.

This badge was one in a series of badges  celebrating the centennial year of scouting in 2007. This one was issued in conjunction with the unveiling of a plaque to mark the Metchosin burial place of Lord George Rodney who, as a boy, was the first name on the list of "scouts" who attended the Brownsea Island camp with BP.

Several badges were produced in 2007 with the same basic shape but this is probably the most interesting to me. Our group committee purchased these and gave one to every youth and adult involved in Scouting in our group as a special memento.
