Perhaps because the Yukon Territory get tacked onto BC it is not so obvious a copy as Nova Scotia which uses the Provincial Arms directly. However, if you know the BC Coat of Arms you can see the inspiration.
This is another badge from my old Venturer uniform and I have the exact same badge on my current Scouter uniform. Good design never goes out of style.
