Day 120: Mont St Michel

I did Normandy the other day but for me the only thing in Normandy was Mont St Michel.

Yes I would have loved to go to Juno Beach but that will be next time because we are going back someday, hopefully with the kids.

This place was stunning. We camped at a place just off the end of the causeway (apparently now removed and replaced with a bridge) and walked out to the island twice. Once the evening we arrived to have a quick look around because we were so excited and the next day when we spent the whole day exploring.

The crest itself is interesting. According to Wikipedia that is not the arms of Mont St Michel. It would appear to be simply a combination of the scallop shell badge of pilgrims with the French Fleur de Lys.
