This is another from our trip to Europe. Our goal was Mont Saint-Michel which was spectacular. We stopped at a roadside restaurant in the middle of nowhere after being stuck behind a hay wagon for most of an hour and managed to have a magnificent lunch. This was even though we had very little French and the staff had almost no English (or just did not care.) The only goof was when Jacquie ordered a dessert wine as her drink with lunch. As she just reminded me, she enjoyed it anyway.
We spent little time in Normandy as the VW camper van we had borrowed from my parents had mechanical issues. And yes, if ordering in the restaurant was hard, try explaining to a mechanic that the gear shift lever has dropped and won't engage.
