I have so many badges from CJ'81 and here is THE badge.
Now you can see what I have been talking about with the copycat contingent badges like the BC Interior or Alberta. Of course the design is so nice it deserves to be emulated.
Somewhere I still have the little plastic versions of this badge that every participant received. We then added little tokens for each activity like the Calgary Stampede, river rafting, etc. BY the end we each had a little chain of blue plastic tokens and our troop bought some model paint as a kit from the camp store and tried to color them. I shudder to think what a horrible job I did. If I do find them I may be tempted to clean the paint off and leave them blank or start again with a hopefully more steady hand.
Ah, who am I kidding. I'm too lazy and I probably wouldn't do a much better job. I like LEGO as a hobby partly because I don't have to paint minifigs.
