When I think of my "childhood" I think of Ottawa. We lived there when I was in Kindergarten until half way through grade 7 except for my grade one year in Plymouth, England.
As a native of Victoria I have been amused that the first place we lived in Ottawa was a neighbourhood called Beacon Hill which is the most well-known park here in Victoria and one of the schools I went to was Emily Carr Middle School. The childhood home of this famous artist is a few blocks from where I sitting right now.
